This intensive one-day workshop is designed to give you the lowdown on what it takes to survive as a producer in the performing arts. Aimed at independent producers, ensembles and producers in small arts organisations, including artists who self-produce their work with a minimum of 2 – 3 years experience. What to Bring Laptop/iPad and or note pad Your own utensils/food (we have a fridge and microwave) ABOUT THE ARTIST Laura Milke-Garner (MILKE) is an award-winning producer, mentor and active advocate for the arts in Australia. She has been producing events, shows and touring productions for over 20 years. In 2008, she established her own company MILKE to help artists produce their work, while also providing 1:1 mentorship, workshops and online courses for artists and producers looking to develop their artistic careers. MILKE has creatively developed and produced work for Sydney Opera House, Sydney Festival, Arts Centre Melbourne, Darwin Festival, Brisbane Festival, Brisbane Power House, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Arts Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. She currently produces her own podcast called Run The Show, interviewing producers, artists, and other creative practitioners about their work, with a focus on the business that takes place behind-the-scenes in Australia’s creative industries.
