The Living Room Theatre

In a first-time collaboration between Michelle St Anne and Sue Jo Wright, The Reckoning uses the body as a site for exploring structural violence, to expose systems of violence. Through music, performance, and Auslan, this work seeks to develop a shared commentary on how we hear and what it means to listen by interrogating ableist tropes and the Deaf experience.

THE LIVING ROOM THEATRE creates immersive experiences in unusual and forgotten places to shift perception and engage in critical dialogues reflecting the significant issues of our time. Over two decades our mission has been to re-define contemporary theatre by giving artists a home to collaborate, be vulnerable, share their work and stretch their practice. Through artistic and scholarly research, we address the epic (systemic injustice and inequality) by amplifying the domestic (themes of trauma and violence). Our work asks you to take time to look at things differently.
