The Fivex Art Prize is a new and unique annual award in Australia for digital billboard art, highlighting the dynamic relationship between contemporary art and urban street culture.

Sponsored by Australia’s leading digital billboard company, QMS Media, the Fivex Foundation invites artists to submit one or more works specially created for two LED advertising billboards – a horizontal corner ‘wrap’, and a vertical ‘podium’ – located at the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth streets in the center of Melbourne, Australia.

Showcased at designated intervals among commercial advertising content, the artworks will surprise and excite the thousands of Melbournians who pass the iconic billboards daily.

The Fivex Art Prize aims to stimulate a new form of bold, memorable and imaginative street art that captivates and inspires diverse audiences, while broadening awareness and appreciation of art in public spaces.

The Prize offers artists an exciting opportunity to create artworks that conceptually link across two QMS Media digital billboards.

Artworks can be in any still (static) form, including:

  • graphic
  • photographic/photomedia
  • typographic
  • representational
  • abstract
  • experimental
  • colour and/or monochrome

Please note: artworks submitted as moving image/video/animation/GIF will not be eligible.

  • Winning artworks announced and exhibited in March 2020
    • First Prize: $30,000
    • Finalists: $1,000
