In 2013 Brand X partnered with Fraser Property Australia and Sekisui House Australia in a cultural activation within Sydney’s newest retail hub, Central. Central is Central Park’s very own shopping destination located across the first six levels of Jean Nouvel’s One Central Park residential tower on Broadway. L3 Central is a multi-arts cultural pop-up for Sydney’s Independent Arts Community, featuring Visual Arts, Rehearsal and Event Space for hire. Together this partnership has designated approximately 1,000sqms of space on Level 3 for community cultural use. This initial 6-month trial will be the first time a property developer has entrenched such significant cultural assets within a retail complex, paving the way for similar activations across the country. The partners believe that such an activation will not only give artists valuable space to work but enhance the entire Central shopping experience with invitations to the public to participate in creative practice.
