Performing Arts Creative Development Residency - Callout Applications are now open, closing midnight Tuesday, 11th June 2024. Brand X invites artists and groups working on performing arts projects that are in early stage development to submit an application to our Performing Arts Creative Development Residency. Applications are welcome from artists working in contemporary performing arts disciplines theatre, dance, physical theatre, performance art or multi-art forms. Projects are supported with time in a rehearsal space without the pressure of an outcome, giving artists time to experiment, room to play and capacity to innovate within their practice. Artists are welcome to build on collaborations, generate new ideas, transition from page or early formation onto the floor, explore a new direction in practice or project, workshop the potentials of a new design element or delve into the early creative development of a new work. This residency is for creative development and does not support rehearsals. 5 - 6 projects will be supported with: 1 or 2 weeks of rehearsal studio time at City of Sydney Creative Studios (40-50 hrs over 5 days) $1,200 stipend per week per solo project (one creative lead) or $1,700 stipend per week per group project (collective of artists) Access to Brand X equipment (if available) All successful lead artists will meet before and after the residency to share ideas, goals and outcomes.
