Venue Access

Our venue is the East Sydney Community and Arts Centre (ESCAC), 34 Burton St, Darlinghurst 2010

Getting to there by:

Car; On-street metered parking around the venue and accessible car spaces available out the front on Burton Street.
Bus; Oxford Street 160 meter steep downhill walk (333, 373, 399, 392, 394 and M10 buses).
Train; Museum Train Station 650 meter walk.

ACCESSIBLE PERFORMANCES

Our venue is wheelchair accessible, with accessible car spaces available out the front on Burton Street. Guide dogs and assistance animals are welcome at every performance.

Companion tickets are avaialbe at every performance. When booking your ticket please complete the access requirements box during the booking process to book your companion card ticket. A Brand X team member will be in touch to confirm.

Auslan interpreted performances are shows in which an interpreter is positioned to the side of the stage relaying dialogue in real time. Brand X will be offering Auslan interpretation for the following Flying Nun productions:

Tactile Tours are catered to those who are blind or have low vision, they are guided through the space and are encouraged to feel props and the set so they can form an impression of the space before the performance takes place. Brand X is offering tactile tours for the following Flying Nun productions:

Our Spaces

Brand X offer a number of spaces for hire across Sydney to service independent performing, visual and music practitioners. Our spaces are affordable and offer a mix of shared open-plan studios or private rehearsal rooms with resources to support training, development or the creation of new work.
ESCAC Rehearsal Space - Darlinghurst

Rehearsal space for hire in Darlinghurst, Sydney for Performing Artists, Dance, Theatre practitioners preparing for production, training or building their creative practice as well as being a venue suitable for performances, events, classes and workshops.
What is Brand X?

Brand X is a not-for-profit arts organisation run by Artists for Artists who are in the business of making space for Artists by re-purposing under-utilised properties in Sydney so performing, recording and visual art communities can practice their craft.
L2.2: Rehearsal Space at CoSCS

Smaller of two rehearsal spaces at the City of Sydney Creative Studios, the space is designed for performing artists training or building their creative practice as well as being a venue suitable for auditions, classes and workshops.
TWT Visual Arts Studio – St Leonards

Brand X offers affordable, semi-permanent tenancy to visual artists, designers and craft practitioners in open-plan shared spaces and private enclosed studios.
L2.1: Rehearsal Space at CoSCS

Largest of two rehearsal spaces at the City of Sydney Creative Studios, the space accommodates performance based companies and collectives preparing for production. With a minimum 10 hour booking per day, this space provides exclusive access to allow for rehearsal mark-up and the use of sets/props for the duration of the weekly hire period.

Rehearse and record in the CoSCS largest soundproof studio. Designed to fit up to 30 musicians, the space features exceptional acoustic treatment, making it perfect for recording vocals and instruments within the room.
