12- JUNE-2020

Brand X is excited to announce the staggered re-opening of our rehearsal and performance spaces across Sydney.

After three months of closure due to COVID-19, we are delighted to turn the lights back on at our studios to enable the creative community to return to their practice, following the easing of NSW Government restrictions on community spaces.

Prioritising the health and safety of artists, staff, hirers and their guests, Brand X has developed a COVID-19 Safety Plan that adopts rigorous health and safety measures in accordance with NSW Government requirements.

TWT Rehearsal Space in St LeonardsFrom Monday 15 June, the TWT Rehearsal Space in St Leonards will be available to hire for rehearsals, classes, training and workshops. Hand sanitiser will be provided at entry points and users must register on entry. Hard surfaces and touch points will be regularly sanitised with NSW Health recommended cleaning products. Physical distancing and maximum occupancy rules will also be in place.

East Sydney Community and Arts Centre in Darlinghurst and Tempe Jets Rehearsal Space will reopen shortly after, with the same health, safety measures.

Brand X acknowledges the challenges facing Sydney’s creative community and we are confident that the reopening of rehearsal spaces offers a significant step-forward in rebuilding the arts sector.

We intend to be fully operational again by September, including with the re-launch of our popular Flying Nun performance program. Our objective is to transform Brand X’s performance venue, preserving its intimate feel while protecting audiences enjoying live contemporary performance.

Thank you to our generous donors who have contributed towards our fundraising appeal to turn the lights back on at Brand X venues. We have reached 85% of our target and urgently need your help to make these health and safety measures happen. Make a tax-deductible donation now.
